New Zealand artist Paul Shipper is doing the covers for IDW’s Official Comic Tie-In to Star Trek Into Darkness and they are, as the title suggests, “completely captivating.”

Now Paul has released images for cover #2 and it, like the first, makes me want to go buy the comic as soon as it comes out.

This October, STAR TREK: KHAN will show intrepid readers just how the master villain 0of Star Trek Into Darkness became the intergalactic menace seen in the blockbuster film. Over six thrilling issues, Khan’s secrets will be unlocked and the origin of evil will finally be uncovered. (Yes, that means we get a LEAST six incredible images from Paul!)
Helmed by the veteran Star Trek team of writer Mike Johnson and artist Claudia Balboni, the series will be overseen by the film’s screenwriter, Roberto Orci.
